Freelance Service Manager – Digital Security GRC (FTC)

We are looking for an experienced Service Manager to support the Digital Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team. This role is central to developing a scalable, service-oriented approach to digital security within the organization.
About the Role
The consultant will join a high-performing team responsible for building services that help internal product teams implement and manage security requirements. The Service Manager will play a key role in defining ways of working, delivering value to stakeholders, and driving operational maturity across the GRC function.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate and enhance GRC processes, team rituals, documentation standards, and cross-functional collaboration.
Ensure alignment with broader Digital Security and Technology Delivery functions.
Introduce and embed agile, user-focused methods to ensure delivery is scalable, measurable, and value-driven.
Service Delivery
Develop and manage the service blueprint, including both user-facing and internal operational components.
Oversee the full service lifecycle: planning, onboarding, operations, performance tracking.
Continuously improve the service based on data, feedback, and audits.
Build and maintain a backlog of improvements and manage communication, documentation, and training efforts.
Lead onboarding and support activities for internal service users.
Define and monitor service KPIs.
Operational Support & Maturity
Track and report on service performance, KPIs, and team commitments.
Identify blockers and drive resolution across internal teams and third-party vendors.
Support knowledge management, onboarding, and internal communication within the GRC service area.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a professional with:
Experience in Governance, Risk, and Compliance, ideally in large or regulated organizations.
Strong understanding of control frameworks and operational governance.
Experience managing structured workflows and supporting cross-functional teams.
A service-oriented approach and a focus on operational excellence.
Previous roles such as Service Manager, Program/Project Manager, or Process Owner within a security or risk context.
Experience in building and evolving Digital Security services is an advantage.
